STUDIO FAQ’s:

What are your classes like?:

Our Mar Vista yoga studio offers a wide range of class styles for all levels. Most of our schedule features vinyasa flow classes inspired by the Lotus Flow style from Laughing Lotus Yoga Center — creative sequencing, soulful music, and transformative asana. We also offer Flow & Slow, Yummy Yin, Lounging Lotus, Yin yoga with sound healing or cupping, prenatal yoga, and Pilates. Whether you’re brand new or an experienced yogi, you’ll find a style that fits.

How old do I have to be to take class?:

Students must be 12 and up for our adult yoga classes. All classes require a signed waiver from students 18+, or from a parent or guardian for minors.

Can I take class if I am pregnant?:

Yes. Always tell your instructor before class so they can guide you through safe prenatal yoga modifications. We strongly recommend our Prenatal Yoga class in Los Angeles, held Saturdays at 12:30pm, which is tailored for all trimesters.

Do you offer classes for beginners?:

Absolutely. Most of our Mar Vista yoga classes are all-levels and beginner-friendly. If you’re new to yoga, we suggest Yummy Yin, Lounging Lotus, or Flow & Slow. Avoid Level 2/3 classes until you have more experience. Let your teacher know you’re new so they can offer personalized guidance.

Where is your yoga studio located?:

We are located in the heart of Mar Vista, Los Angeles, near Venice, Culver City, and West LA. Our central location makes us easy to reach whether you’re biking from the beach or driving from the city.

Do you have lockers and showers?:

We do not have showers, but we offer locker rentals ($25/month, $45 for 3 months, $60 for 6 months — bring your own lock). Cubbies are available for personal items, and we have a bathroom and three changing stalls. We are not responsible for lost or stolen property.

Can I transfer classes to someone else?:

No, we do not allow sharing or transferring of class packages.

Do class packs expire?:

Yes. Regular 5- and 10-class packs expire 6 months from purchase. The Intro Special (3 classes for $50) must be used within 1 month of your first class. Promotional or discounted packs may have shorter expiration dates — check offer details.

Do you offer unlimited class packages?:

Yes. If you practice yoga in West LA or Mar Vista more than twice a week, our unlimited packages are the best value.

Tell me more about the Monthly Yoga Membership!:

Our Monthly Yoga Membership is $149 and includes unlimited public classes, plus 15% off boutique items and special workshops/events. Your card is charged automatically each month with no minimum commitment. You can freeze your membership for up to 3 months in one-month increments.

Do you offer student/senior rates?:

Yes. We offer a 15% discount for students with valid ID and seniors 65+. Discount not valid for intro offers, events, or workshops.

What other services do you offer besides yoga classes?:

Beyond our daily yoga classes in Mar Vista, we host Yoga Alliance-accredited teacher trainings (200hr & 300hr), workshops, kirtans, soundbaths, retreats, and special community events. Our Wellness Wing offers massage therapy, acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and reiki — all by appointment.

How do I book a class or treatment?:

Book classes, workshops, and special events online through our website or the Union Fit App. Massage, acupuncture, and reiki sessions must be booked in advance by emailing info@lightonlotus.com.

Do you offer private yoga sessions?:

Yes. We provide private and semi-private yoga in Los Angeles for individuals, small groups, and company events. Contact us to schedule.

Can I drop in for a class without registering?:

Walk-ins are welcome when space is available, but we recommend booking online to secure your spot — especially for popular yoga classes in Mar Vista.

Do you offer yoga teacher training?:

Yes. Our Yoga Alliance-accredited 200hr and 300hr yoga teacher trainings in Los Angeles cover creative sequencing, anatomy, yoga philosophy, sacred texts, bhakti yoga, and how to foster community.

What should I bring to my first yoga class?:

Wear comfortable clothing, bring a refillable water bottle, and an open mind. We rent yoga mats for $2 and provide props. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to settle in.

Is parking available at the studio?:

Yes. Free 2-hour street parking is available on side streets near Venice Blvd. Bike racks are also available. We encourage walking, biking, or carpooling to our Mar Vista yoga studio.

Because we’re more than just a place to practice yoga.
