What are your classes like?

Our Mar Vista yoga studio offers a wide range of class styles for all levels. Most of our schedule features vinyasa flow classes inspired by the Lotus Flow style from Laughing Lotus Yoga Center, with creative sequencing, soulful music, and transformative asana. We also offer Flow & Slow, Yummy Yin, Lounging Lotus, Yin yoga with sound healing or cupping, prenatal yoga, and Pilates.

How old do I have to be to take class?

Students must be 12 and up for our adult yoga classes. All classes require a signed waiver from students 18+, or from a parent or guardian for minors.

Can I take class if I am pregnant?

Yes. Always tell your instructor before class so they can guide you through safe prenatal yoga modifications. We recommend our Prenatal Yoga class on Saturdays at 12:30pm, tailored for all trimesters.

Do you offer classes for beginners?

Yes. Most classes are all levels and beginner friendly. Suggested starting points include Yummy Yin, Lounging Lotus, or Flow & Slow. Avoid Level 2/3 classes until you have more experience.

Where is your yoga studio located?

We are in Mar Vista, Los Angeles, near Venice, Culver City, and West LA.

Do you have lockers and showers?

Accepted Answer

We do not have showers. Locker rentals are available for 25 dollars per month, 45 dollars for three months, or 60 dollars for six months. Cubbies, a bathroom, and three changing stalls are available.

Can I transfer classes to someone else?

No. We do not allow sharing or transferring of class packages.

Do class packs expire?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Regular five and ten class packs expire six months from purchase. The Intro Special of three classes for 50 dollars must be used within one month of your first class. Promotional or discounted packs may have shorter expiration dates.

Yes. If you practice more than twice a week, our unlimited options are the best value, including our 149 dollars per month membership.

The Monthly Yoga Membership is 149 dollars, includes unlimited public classes, and offers a 15 percent discount on boutique items and special workshops or events. Charges recur monthly with no minimum commitment. Membership can be frozen for up to three months in one month increments.

Do you offer student or senior rates?

Yes. We offer a 15 percent discount for students with valid ID and seniors 65 and up. The discount does not apply to intro offers, events, or workshops.

What other services do you offer besides yoga classes?

We host Yoga Alliance accredited teacher trainings at the 200 hour and 300 hour levels, workshops, kirtans, soundbaths, retreats, and special community events. Our Wellness Wing offers massage therapy, acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and reiki by appointment.

How do I book a class or treatment?

Book classes, workshops, and events on our website or the Union Fit App. Massage, acupuncture, and reiki require advance booking by emailing info@lightonlotus.com.

Yes. We provide private and semi private yoga for individuals, small groups, and company events. Contact us to schedule.

Can I drop in for a class without registering?

Walk ins are welcome when space is available, though advance booking is recommended, especially for popular classes.

Do you offer yoga teacher training?

Yes. Our Yoga Alliance accredited 200 hour and 300 hour trainings cover creative sequencing, anatomy, philosophy, sacred texts, bhakti yoga, and community building.

What should I bring to my first yoga class?

Wear comfortable clothing and bring a refillable water bottle. Mats are available to rent for 2 dollars and props are provided. Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early.
